Fixed Ladders
Application fields for fixed ladders:

- Safe emergency exit for buildings in case of fire and emergencies

- DIN 18 799-1 (fixed ladders for inspection, maintenance and cleaning works in buildings)
- EN ISO 14122-4 (vertical access and machine systems)
- DIN 14 094-1 (Fire regulations, emergency exit for rescue of people in case of danger)
- Safety regulations BGV D 36
Important Requirements:
- Emergency ladders may not have any fall protection devices
Applications for shaft ladders:
- Safe descent for maintenance and repair works in waste water treatment plants, drinking water supply plants, devonian, detention reservoirs and other shaft systems
Standards and regulations:
- EN 14 396 (fixed shaft ladders for shafts)
- DIN 19 572 (holding devices for shafts)
- Industrial safety regulations
- Accident prevention regulations BGV D 36
- GUV C5 and BGV C 5 (Waste water plants)
Important requirements:
- If the fall height is more than 5 meters, a fall protection or back guard is mandatory
- In case of emissions of gas or fumes or insufficient oxygen supply, only fall protection is allowed
- Rest platforms every 10 meters
