Innovative access technology for building cleaners

Building cleaners face the daily challenge of carrying out work at different heights safely and efficiently. Choosing the right access technology plays a crucial role in this. Different locations, floor conditions and heights require specific solutions to ensure that work processes are not only safe, but also ergonomic and time-saving. The versatile KRAUSE programme offers the right access technology for every application to meet these requirements. In particular, stair ladders, ladders with R13 slip resistance and specialised window cleaner ladders offer optimum options for the challenges of cleaning buildings. Regular inspections also help to further optimise safety and efficiency in building cleaning.

Ladders and steps - indispensable helpers in building cleaning

In professional building cleaning, ladders and steps are indispensable tools that enable safe access to higher areas. Whether cleaning window fronts, replacing lighting elements or maintaining wall and ceiling areas - the right climbing aid makes work much easier. Steps, single-sided step ladders and double-sided step ladders in particular offer flexible and safe solutions for different requirements.

Steps are ideal for working at low to medium heights. Their compact design makes them easy to transport and quick to set up. Their wide steps provide a safe standing surface, making them particularly suitable for cleaning work indoors. Steps are particularly suitable for work involving frequent changes of position, as they are particularly easy and handy to move. It should be noted that steps are only permitted up to a maximum standing height of one metre (working height 3 m).

Single-sided step ladders are characterised by comfortable steps, a large standing platform and a safety top rail. This is used to hold on to when climbing up and down or to lean against while working. They are ideal for work that is only carried out in one direction. Depending on the model, the practical storage trays have cable holders, bucket hooks and trays for tools and small parts. This means that the ladder can be equipped with everything you need before you climb up, which reduces the number of ascents and descents and increases both efficiency and work safety.

The deep steps - optionally 80 mm, 100 mm or 125 mm - ensure safe and comfortable ascent and descent. Slip-resistant foot caps also ensure a secure footing even on smooth floors such as tiles or laminate and protect the floor covering. Thanks to their compact and lightweight design, single-sided step ladders are also a practical solution in confined spaces. When folded up, they take up little space and can be easily stowed away in niches or corners.

The advantage of double-sided step ladders is that they can be used from both sides. This is particularly practical when working on larger areas, as there is no need to move the ladder frequently. This allows you to work flexibly in different directions.

In addition to steps, these ladders are also available with profiled rungs. This makes them versatile and enables greater working heights compared to single-sided step ladders. Before purchasing, however, it should be noted that double-sided step ladders in accordance with DIN EN 131 may only be climbed up to the third step or rung from the top.

Safe step with R13 steps

KRAUSE step ladders are also available with R13 steps, which offer maximum slip resistance. The self-cleaning steps with an open hole pattern ensure maximum safety even under difficult conditions and are easy to clean. Thanks to the special profiling, dirt, mud, snow or ice simply fall through the holes - an effective self-cleaning function when climbing.

In contrast to many other R13 steps on the market, which use rubber or plastic inserts, the KRAUSE R13 steps are made entirely of aluminium and are therefore particularly durable and wear-free. Users appreciate this combination of efficiency and robustness in KRAUSE products. In the case of single-sided household ladders, the standing platform is also equipped with slip-resistant properties.

In addition to the R13 variants, KRAUSE also offers heavy-duty ladders with a load capacity of up to 225 kg. In these models, the safety bar of the single-sided step ladder has been increased by 40% to provide optimum support even for tall users. In addition, reinforced corner braces ensure even load distribution and maximum stability.

Can also be used flexibly on stairs and obstacles

The latest addition to the KRAUSE step ladder programme are telescopic step ladders, which are ideal for use on stairs and around obstacles. Extendable rail extensions allow flexible adaptation to different conditions - ideal for situations where conventional ladders reach their limits.

The telescopic step ladders are available in both single-sided and double-sided versions and offer a versatile solution for a wide range of tasks. With a stepless adjustment range of up to 1,150 mm, they adapt perfectly to uneven terrain or stairs and thus ensure maximum safety.

Additional support is provided by safety brackets, stable metal joints and D-steps, which ensure a secure footing. These features fulfil the requirements of TRBS 2121-2 for the use of ladders as workstations and offer maximum safety when working in demanding environments.

Window cleaner ladders - special solution for professional window cleaning

KRAUSE offers window cleaner ladders with innovative features and 80 mm deep R13 steps that fulfil the requirements of TRBS 2121-2. Particularly noteworthy are the anti-slip R13 steps made of aluminium, which show no additional wear and remain clean thanks to their open hole pattern, as dirt and liquids simply run off. The plug-in ladder system enables the ladder sections to be combined flexibly, allowing different working heights to be realised. The innovative ClickMatic plug-in connection engages automatically and makes assembly and disassembly easier. In addition, the abrasion-resistant support block with wall castors ensures safe positioning and easy movement on the façade.

The KRAUSE system offers maximum flexibility with different assembly variants and a high load capacity of up to 150 kg, even at maximum height. The window cleaner ladders consist of a lower section with a wide stabiliser, optional centre sections and a tapered upper section with a support block. The internal plug-in connection prevents protrusions and facilitates transport and storage. With the option of stowing the ladder in a space-saving manner and also transporting it on service vehicles, KRAUSE offers an optimum solution for building cleaners and tradesmen. Ergonomic design and innovative technology ensure safety, comfort and durability in daily use.

Inspection work equipment - train your own inspectors or commission experts

Safety and efficiency in the use of access technology are indispensable in the modern working world. The KRAUSE ACADEMY offers practical seminars for ‘Qualified Persons’, which provide in-depth expertise and enable participants to independently inspect and safely provide ladders, steps, mobile scaffolding, fixed ladders and personal fall protection equipment (PPE). The seminars take place nationwide in seminar hotels, at the customer's premises, at the KRAUSE factory or online and offer maximum flexibility for companies and employees.

As an alternative to its own seminars, KRAUSE offers the option of having the recurring inspections carried out by experienced specialists. The experts carry out the legally required inspections and ensure that the work equipment is safe and ready for use.

Digital testing with the work equipment testing software from wosatec

To facilitate the management and documentation of inspections, KRAUSE offers a digital solution in collaboration with wosatec. The web-based software makes it possible to manage inspection intervals, document inspection logs paperlessly and receive automatic reminders of upcoming inspection dates. This not only increases the safety of work equipment, but also reduces the time and effort required to organise inspections.

With the right access technology, regular inspections and digital solutions, building cleaners can organise their work processes safely and efficiently. With KRAUSE, they not only have a reliable partner at their side, but also an experienced one who supports them in all matters relating to occupational safety at height. With innovative products, regular inspections and practice-orientated training, KRAUSE ensures that all work equipment is always safe, efficient and state of the art. This allows building cleaners to concentrate on their work, while KRAUSE ensures that safety is always guaranteed.
