KRAUSE expands its 225 kg range for professional heavy-duty applications

In professional settings, ladders and folding steps are often subjected to significantly greater strain than during occasional use. In trades, industry, maintenance, building cleaning, warehousing, facility management or assembly work, the user’s body weight is compounded by the load of tools, materials, cleaning equipment or personal protective equipment. To meet these operating conditions, KRAUSE has systematically expanded its range of ladders and steps with a load capacity of up to 225 kg.

KRAUSE STABILO step ladder 135 XL, 225 kg

With the heavy-duty models in the STABILO product range, KRAUSE offers robust access equipment for applications where stability, durability and additional safety margins are required. The range includes single-sided step ladders, double-sided step ladders, step leaning ladders, as well as the new STABILO step ladder 135 XL and the STABILO double folding steps 135 and 135 XL. The range thus covers many typical work situations: from quick access to higher areas, through maintenance and inspection work, to tasks requiring prolonged and comfortable standing.

Greater load-bearing capacity for demanding applications

A load capacity of up to 225 kg provides extra headroom in day-to-day workplace use. This is particularly important where ladders and steps are used regularly, moved frequently and operated by different people. Robust aluminium construction, reinforced steps, sturdy rail and joint areas, and slip-resistant features ensure that the products can not only handle heavy loads but are also suitable for repeated professional use.

STABILO step ladder: robust, stable and ready for use in no time

The STABILO single-sided step ladder, featuring a high rail and a load capacity of 225 kg, is designed for users who need a stable ladder that can be set up quickly for their daily tasks. It is suitable for use in workshops, production, building services, cleaning, maintenance and assembly, amongst other areas. A slip-resistant, profiled safety platform provides a secure footing, whilst the high-strength flanged step/rail connection ensures stability during continuous use. Two-component “SafetyCap” foot caps ensure a secure grip on the ground.

A key feature is the safety rail, which is 40 per cent higher. It improves guidance in the upper section of the ladder and offers additional support, particularly for taller users. The integrated tool tray facilitates typical workflows, as tools and small parts can be stored within easy reach.

STABILO step ladder 135 XL: greater comfort for longer jobs

The new STABILO step ladder 135 XL combines a load capacity of up to 225 kg with significantly greater standing comfort. Its 135 mm deep premium D-steps offer more standing surface area than classic standard steps and allow for stable and controlled standing during longer or regularly recurring tasks. This is complemented by a 300 mm wide safety platform and a safety rail raised by 40 per cent.

This ladder is therefore designed for users who not only need to climb safely, but also need to work in a stable and comfortable manner over a period of time. Typical applications include maintenance and installation work, technical installations, building cleaning, interior fitting, service calls, and inspection and control activities. Metal hinged joints that wrap around the steps, high-strength flanged step/rail connections and slip-resistant foot caps underline its professional credentials as a heavy-duty ladder.

STABILO double-sided step ladder: accessible from both sides and versatile

The STABILO double-sided step ladder complements the 225 kg range as a solution accessible from both sides. It is particularly useful when a free-standing ladder is required and the work area needs to be accessible from both sides. This can be advantageous when working on machinery, shelving, equipment, walls or in assembly areas, as the ladder can be used flexibly and needs to be repositioned less frequently.

This model also features reinforced, profiled steps, a sturdy construction and a design built for heavy-duty use. It thus combines load-bearing capacity with manoeuvrability and is ideal for workplaces where ladders are used frequently and moved around regularly.

STABILO single-section leaning step ladder: secure footing when leaning against a surface

The STABILO single-section leaning step ladder, 225 kg, is designed for applications where a leaning ladder is required but a more comfortable footing is desired than that offered by a traditional rung ladder. The profiled and reinforced D-steps provide a larger tread area and support safe use during repetitive tasks.

Depending on the model, the ladder is supplied with a stabiliser to meet the requirements of DIN EN 131. An integrated wall-brace ensures safe use against walls or other support points. The single-section leaning ladder is therefore suitable both for working at height and for safe access, provided that the intended use has been assessed accordingly within the workplace.

STABILO double folding steps 135 and 135 XL: compact, sturdy and comfortable

Not every task requires a traditional ladder. For low working heights, compact steps are often needed that are readily available, easy to move and yet stable enough for professional use. The new STABILO double folding steps 135 and 135 XL were developed precisely for this purpose. Both models are designed for loads of up to 225 kg and feature 135 mm deep premium D-steps.

The upper standing surface creates a clearly defined working area. On the double folding step 135, it measures 420 mm × 300 mm, and on the double folding step 135 XL, it is as large as 600 mm × 300 mm.

Typical applications include order picking, visual inspections, minor maintenance tasks, system adjustments, property maintenance, retail, warehousing and facility management. High-strength, bolted aluminium hinges, large-diameter rails, corner bracing, a secure locking mechanism and profiled, slip-resistant steps make them ideal for daily use. This makes the double-folding steps a compact addition to the classic ladder models in the 225 kg range.

Taking inspection and documentation into account

Even robust, heavy-duty ladders and step ladders are classified as work equipment that must be inspected and documented on a regular basis. When selecting such equipment, it is always important to consider the specific task, the duration of use, the environment and the actual load. Standards and technical regulations such as DIN EN 131 or TRBS 2121 Part 2 can provide guidance in this regard. However, they are not the primary focus in this context.

KRAUSE also supports companies with seminars on seminars on "competent persons" and with inspection services. All STABILO ladders and folding steps are also designed for digital equipment management. A QR code label allows the products to be uniquely identified and imported into the wosatec web app. Inspections, documents and inspection dates can be managed there on a product-by-product basis

With its 225 kg range, KRAUSE offers a practical range for professional users who value load-bearing capacity, stability and comfort when using ladders and step stools. It comprises single-sided access step ladder models, the comfort-oriented step ladder 135 XL, flexible double ladders, single sided step ladders and compact double folding steps for various working heights and application scenarios. The common feature is a high load capacity of up to 225 kg, combined with well-thought-out design details for daily professional use.

The new brochure featuring the 225 kg ladders and folding steps is now available online and provides a concise overview of the models, designs and applications within the expanded heavy-duty range. Interested users and decision-makers can use it to find specific solutions tailored to their requirements.
