KRAUSE mobile scaffolds are available like ladders and folding steps in the product lines STABILO, MONTO and CORDA. From occasional use in the private sector (CORDA) to home and craftsmen (MONTO) up to daily professional use in trade and industry (STABILO), working heights of 3.00 up to 14.50 metres can be reached. This provides a comfortable workplace even at the greatest heights, where users have both hands free and can also place tools or materials. While the CORDA range offers ladder scaffolds, small scaffolds and working scaffolds in working heights from 2.90 to 5.00 m, the MONTO range includes mobile scaffolds of the ClimTec and ProTec series up to working heights of 12.30 m. STABILO mobile scaffolds are available in 8 different variations and support professionals with work up to working heights of 14.50 m.
The standard DIN EN 1004, which applies to mobile scaffolds (mobile working platforms), was revised in the recent past and has since brought about some changes. In addition to an extension of the scope, fundamental changes regarding the construction and statics of scaffolds have also been specified. One of these changes stipulates that guardrails and braces must always be assembled from the lowest platform; for the first platform of a scaffold, from the ground. Alternatively, guardrails can also be mounted through the opened platform flap. For safety reasons, KRAUSE has decided against this method for all scaffolds of the MONTO and STABILO series and allows with the GuardMatic system the assembly from the level below.
KRAUSE GuardMatic System - Maximum safety at any height
Therefore, when walking on the platforms, there is always a surrounding railing as fall protection. This also applies to scaffold erection, which also involves an increased risk potential. The newly designed rail frames of the GuardMatic system are easy to assemble from the lower level and combine rail brace, knee rail and diagonal brace in one component. This reduces the number of individual parts and facilitates transport and logistics of the rolling towers.
Of course, all other regulations of the standard have been implemented precisely and in a user-friendly manner to make the assembly of and working on the scaffolds even more comfortable and safe.
What are the differences between the individual mobile scaffold towers?
In addition to the basic selection of the three product lines described, the following product characteristics can influence the choice of the right rolling tower:
- Working height: Calculated from the standing height plus 2 metres and represents one of the most important decision-making features when purchasing a rolling tower.
- Scaffold field length: The length of the platforms that serve as the standing area and thus also have an influence on the size of the working area of the scaffold towers.
- Scaffold field width: Some KRAUSE scaffolds are available with a double working surface, where two decking platforms next to each other increase the accessible area.
- Castors: The individual mobile scaffold models are equipped with different sizes of castors - some of them height-adjustable.
- Stabilisers: In addition to stabilisers made of aluminium or steel, KRAUSE mobile scaffolds are also offered without a stabiliser. These scaffolds require less space.
- Outriggers: Serve to stabilise the mobile scaffold towers and are already included in the scope of delivery of many variants.
- Ballast weights: Also serve to stabilise the mobile scaffolds - the number of weights required depends on the assembly height and the assembly location and can be found in the instructions for assembly and use.
- Climbing: Climbing onto the assembled mobile scaffolds is always via the vertical frame and the slip-resistant rungs of the frame. The STABILO Mobile scaffold Series 5500 has a convenient stairway.
