The KRAUSE range includes mobile scaffolding from the three well-known product lines STABILO, MONTO and CORDA. This means that all user groups are optimally served: from occasional use in the private sector with CORDA, to ambitious DIY enthusiasts and craftsmen with MONTO, to daily use in the professional construction and industrial sector with STABILO. The possible working heights range from just under 3.00 metres to an impressive 14.50 metres. This means that even at lofty heights, it is possible to work safely and comfortably with your hands free and sufficient space for tools or materials. The CORDA range includes ladder, small and working scaffolding for working heights between 2.90 and 5.00 metres. The MONTO series offers solutions up to a working height of 12.30 metres with the ClimTec and ProTec mobile scaffolds. For demanding continuous use, STABILO scaffolds are available in eight different versions, allowing heights of up to 14.50 metres.
With the revision of DIN EN 1004, key changes were made to the standard for mobile scaffolding. In addition to an expansion of the scope, new requirements for assembly and statics were also introduced. One important change concerned the installation of railings and struts: these must be installed from the platform below or, alternatively, through the platform hatch. For safety reasons, KRAUSE has decided against this method for all scaffolding in the MONTO and STABILO series and instead relies on its specially developed GuardMatic system. This enables safe installation from the level below.
GuardMatic-System – Safety through Innovation
When walking on the working platforms, the GuardMatic-System provides users with a continuous guardrail as fall protection – even during dismantling, which often involves underestimated risks. The system's innovative guardrail frames combine guardrail struts, knee rails and diagonal connections in a single element. This reduces the number of individual parts, facilitates transport and simplifies the entire logistics involved in scaffolding construction.
In addition, KRAUSE naturally meets all other requirements of the revised standard. These have been implemented in a user-friendly manner to make both the construction and the work on the scaffolding even more comfortable and safer.
Differences between the scaffolding systems in detail
In addition to choosing the right product line, various technical features influence the decision on the most suitable mobile scaffold system. A key criterion is the working height, which is calculated from the standing height plus two metres. The length of the platforms is equally relevant, as it determines the usable working area. Some models are equipped with double scaffolding width and offer a particularly large standing area thanks to two platforms side by side. There are also differences in the castors. Depending on the model, different sizes are used, some with height adjustment or rubberised to protect the floor.
Aluminium or steel stabilisers provide additional stability. Many variants are equipped with stabilising outriggers as standard. For taller structures, these can be supplemented with ballast weights. The required number of these weights depends on the height of the structure and the location of use and can be found in the corresponding assembly instructions. Access to the scaffolding is always via the vertical frame with slip-resistant rungs. The STABILO 5500 series even has a particularly comfortable staircase.
In addition to its comprehensive product range, KRAUSE also offers professional inspection services for mobile scaffolding and other work equipment with INSPECT – an ideal addition for safe operation.
