Escape ladders are structural installations on buildings that can be used to rescue people in the event of danger and should always offer people a means of escape from danger by themselves.
Planning and use
When planning an emergency escape ladder the relevant fire protection authority has to be involved into the planning. If the potential climbing height exceeds 1 m, the ladder's access, exit and crossover points have to be equipped with holding devices.
