Access technology with R13 slip-resistance

In environments with a high risk of slipping, workplace safety is a constant challenge. Conventional ladders and steps often do not provide a secure footing when combined with water, snow, ice, oil, grease, dust or granules. We have developed solutions with R13 slip-resistance that tackle this problem at its root. These products are designed for the most demanding conditions and offer maximum safety.

The R13 safety principle: maximum slip-resistance

Die R13 slip-resistance class is the highest classification for floor coverings and steps. It is determined in a test procedure recognised throughout Europe, the so-called ramp test according to DIN 51130. In this test, the surface is coated with oil and the slip-resistance is evaluated. As a manufacturer of access technology, we have integrated this highest slip-resistance class into the steps and standing platforms of selected products to ensure a secure footing even under the most adverse conditions.

KRAUSE's R13 access technology is designed for work areas with a high risk of slipping and offers maximum safety in industries such as:

  • Industrial manufacturing and logistics: Safe access to machines, presses and shelving areas
  • Construction sites and trades: Firm footing in dirty, wet or muddy conditions
  • Agriculture and shipbuilding: Maintenance of vehicles and equipment despite mud and oil
  • Cleaning and maintenance work: Safe working in contact with liquids and greases

The advantages of the R13 steps and platform with open hole pattern

  • R13 is the slip-resistance class with the highest static friction coefficient and offers very high slip-resistance – even under demanding conditions where large quantities of grease and oil are present, for example.
  • It can be used indoors and outdoors, even on very dirty or slippery surfaces such as water, snow, ice, oil, grease, dust, granulate, etc.
  • High slip-resistance, as the steps clean themselves when stepped on; contaminants such as dirt, mud or ice fall through the holes.
  • The steps and platforms, which are made entirely of aluminium, are not subject to wear and tear as is the case with steps with rubber or plastic inserts.
