Double-sided roof working platform including crane system

Customer:
HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG

HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG, based in Darmstadt, Hesse, is the leading mobility service provider in Southern Hesse and the main company of the HEAG Transport Group. The group employs 700 staff. Its main business activities include bus and tram operations as well as basic infrastructure services, including maintenance and repairs of the bus and tram fleet.

The fleet of HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG currently features six electric buses which require increased maintenance works on the roof of the buses. The time-consuming replacement of the battery module poses new challenges to the occupational safety of companies. A battery module weighs approximately 450 kg and the total weight of the battery is 3.2 tons. A good reason for the responsible persons at HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG to look at investing in the future and at the innovative KRAUSE roof working platform, including a crane system.

“Our ideas and requests have already been incorporated into the production phase, so that we could jointly develop an optimal work equipment tool for our needs.”

The system is now used for maintenance and repairs of buses. The roof working platform features a length of 18 m and an integrated load crane system for transporting heavy components, tools and materials. A sophisticated safety system divides the two workplaces by railings and safety doors and is controlled via the central control panel on the staircase of the structure.

During a first on-site visit in the maintenance hall, the work area was measured and basic questions were discussed about the company's work processes. Due to the space available in the existing hall, a very precise adjustment had to be made, and every centimetre counted. For this purpose, KRAUSE designers had to coordinate closely with the staff of HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG. Based on their findings and safety-relevant requirements, the KRAUSE project team then designed the roof working platform and, after its completion, installed it in close consultation with the customer.

This is what our client, Mr. Werner Laber, HEAG mobilo GmbH & Co. KG, has to say:

“We are very satisfied with the new roof working platform of KRAUSE Systems. “Our ideas and requests have already been incorporated during the production phase, so that we could jointly develop an optimal work equipment for our needs.”
